San Angelo Clarifies No Agreement Reached on Proposed Data Center Incentives

SAN ANGELO, TX — The City of San Angelo said Tuesday that documents circulating online about a proposed 380 agreement with Emergent for a data center are only examples, and that no terms have been decided or agreements reached.

The city stated that the images shared between the city and Emergent were examples provided to city officials.

“Nothing has been agreed upon between any involved parties,” information stated.

The information also noted that local municipalities lack authority over state tax exemptions.

City Council will develop a 380 agreement, which will be proposed and discussed in open session at a future council meeting.

The clarification addresses online images related to potential incentives or abatements for the proposed data center.
