SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo ISD announced new logos Friday for Central and Lake View high schools.
The logos were unveiled on the SAISD Facebook page showing five new Central logos and two new Lake View logos to go along with an existing one.
“A proud past. A bold future,” the post states. “Central High School's traditions have been built by generations of Bobcats - and that history remains at the heart of the CHS community.
“We’re excited to introduce a new family of logos that celebrates the Bobcat mascot while honoring the familiar symbols and school pride our community has carried for generations.”
Central has had numerous logos over the years, including most recently an interlocking S and A over an outline of Texas.
The new logos have a front or side view of a Bobcat face either by themselves or over a C, Texas outline or within a circle that says “Bobcats” at the top and “Central High School” at the bottom.
One of Lake View’s new logos has its existing L and V with a spear and feather inside a circle that says “Lake View High School” at the top and “Chiefs & Maidens” at the bottom.
The other new logo has the spear and feather over the state of Texas.
“Two new marks. One proud Lake View community,” the post states. “Lake View High School is adding two new logos to its visual identity! Created to work alongside the school’s existing marks, these additions provide new ways for our students, staff, programs and community to represent the Lake View Tribe.”
Reactions online have mostly been negative, with people complaining that the schools didn’t need new logos, and that Lake View didn’t get as many logos as Central.
