ASU Foundation Elects New Leadership After Surpassing Campaign Goal

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Just weeks after the announcement that Angelo State University has already surpassed its original fundraising goal for the ongoing "Leading the Charge" capital campaign, the ASU Foundation has elected new leadership to help guide its continued growth and strengthen its philanthropic support of Angelo State University.

The new leaders for the ASU Foundation Board of Trustees are:

  • Chairman - Troyce Wilcox (ASU Class of 1984), CPA with Chilton, Wilcox & Fortenberry
  • Vice Chairman - Phil Gandy (Class of 1987), Owner of Gandy Ink
  • Secretary/Treasurer - Walter Juliff (Class of 1981), Retired Dallas Cowboys Scout

Wilcox has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2019, Gandy joined in 2023 and Juliff is the newest member, joining in 2025. They will serve two-year terms in their new leadership positions.

"We are delighted to welcome the new leadership of the ASU Foundation Board," said Jamie Mayer, vice president for external affairs. "The momentum and impact of our 'Leading the Charge' campaign have made this an exciting time for the trustees and the entire Ram Family. Each of these outstanding leaders brings unique experience and perspective that will greatly benefit the foundation and Angelo State."

Chartered in 1977, The ASU Foundation is a public, nonprofit organization established to provide financial assistance to ASU primarily from gifts and earnings on endowed funds. The Board of Trustees meets quarterly to oversee management, investment and distribution of all foundation funds for the furtherance of educational purposes at ASU and in accordance with donors' wishes.

In addition to Wilcox, Gandy and Juliff, the 15-member Board of Trustees includes:

  • Oscar Casillas, Class of 1980
  • Mike Conaway
  • Sharanda El-Masri
  • Dr. Mary Ellen Hartje, Class of 1976
  • Dr. Robert LeGrand
  • Hector Leos, Class of 1994
  • Mickey Long, Class of 1976
  • Dr. Albert Reyes, Class of 1981
  • Jill Vosburg, Class of 1998
  • Will Welch, Class of 1995
  • Jerod White, Class of 1994
