SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Independent School District will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, to mark the opening of a new cafeteria and kitchen at Crockett Elementary School, 2104 Johnson Ave.
The ceremony will take place behind the school at the new cafeteria. Guests should enter from Phil George Drive near the Angelo State University Junell Center, turn into the new parking lot beside the kitchen and cafeteria, and walk to the ribbon-cutting area. The district said visitors should not use the main entrance on Johnson Avenue for event parking.
The cafeteria and kitchen are part of Bond 2025 work at Crockett that also includes classroom additions and new parking and student drop-off areas. District officials said the projects are meant to prepare the campus for additional students as San Angelo ISD carries out its elementary right-sizing plan.
Bond 2025, approved by voters, funds work to address aging facilities, improve learning environments, and align campuses with student needs across the district, according to San Angelo ISD.
Community members, families, alumni, and other supporters are invited to attend.
