Two Indoor Golf Simulators Top September San Angelo Building Permits

SAN ANGELO, TX — Two indoor golf simulator projects stand out among the commercial building permits listed in the city’s September 2026 Permit and Inspection Report.

They are Birdies at 61 N. Chadbourne St. and The Back 9 Golf at 4525 North Bentwood Dr., Suite C.

Both remain pending, but they represent new entertainment options for local golfers and residents looking for climate-controlled play. Birdies is listed at $100,000, while The Back 9 Golf is listed at $450,000.

Birdies

The project involves renovating an existing 2,400-square-foot building into a golf entertainment venue with three golf simulators, restrooms, and a lounge area. Structural modifications, interior build-out, and finishes are included. The project registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) in August 2026, with construction targeted to begin in September 2026 and completion in May 2027.

The Back 9 Golf

This is an interior shell build-out of about 3,248 square feet at the Bentwood Retail Center. The TDLR filing lists an estimated cost of $450,000 (about $139 per square foot). Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2026, with a targeted completion of March 2027. The company’s website describes the San Angelo location as a premier indoor golf destination offering 24/7 access to simulator bays where players can hit real clubs on virtual world-class courses.
