Vehicle Fire Shuts Down North Bryant Boulevard

SAN ANGELO, TX — A truck burst into flames while a man was working on it Friday afternoon, shutting down traffic on North Bryant Boulevard and prompting a response from police, ambulances, and firefighters.

The fire happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of North Bryant Boulevard.

A witness told reporters the owner was servicing the vehicle when it suddenly ignited, producing thick black smoke. No injuries were immediately reported.

Traffic on Bryant was halted, with vehicles diverted to the east frontage road. Southbound lanes were reduced to one, causing slowdowns as drivers stopped to view the scene, reporters said.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which left the truck charred.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
