MARCH MADNESS: Seven Texas Teams Selected for NCAA Tournament

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – March Madness returns after a one year hiatus on Saturday and this year more than 10 percent of the teams in the Men's tournament are from Texas.

According to the NCAA the Baylor, Texas Southern, Texas, Abilene Christian, North Texas, Texas Tech and Houston boys will join 53 other teams for a chance to find out who the best men's college basketball team is in the country.

Number one seed in the south, Baylor will take on the winner of Norfolk St. and Appalachian St. Texas Southern will attempt to squeeze into the tournament after making the first four. They will play Mount St. Mary's on Mar. 18 the winner of this plays the number one seed in the East, Michigan.

The Texas showdown this year will be between the Longhorns and Abilene Christian. Over the weekend Texas won the Big 12 tournament. Texas Tech will start the tournament against Utah st. Tech was given a six seed this year.

The final team on the bracket is Houston. Houston is the second seed in the Midwest and will play against Cleveland St.
