SONORA— The Sonora Broncos beat the Alpine Bucks on Friday Night to stay perfect on the season at 4-0.

Alpine started off with a three-yard rushing touchdown and a two-point conversion to go up early over Sonora 8-0. With about four minutes left in the first quarter, Sonora running back Edgar DeLuna ran in a short touchdown and quarterback Juan Castillo converted the point after attempt for two to tie up the game at 8-8.

In the second, Alpine punted to Sonora and DeLuna turned it on and dashed 96 yards for a touchdown. After a successful two-point conversion, the Broncos were leading 16-8. Then, the Broncos Josh Lozano ran in another score from about eight yards out. Another successful two-point conversion and Sonora was up 24-8.

The Bucks’ John Valenzuela kicked a 30-yard field goal with about two minutes left to make the score 24-11, which would be the score at halftime.
