Game Preview:

The Red Raiders desperately need to find a way to get back on track in the Big 12 with only three games remaining in the regular season. Texas Tech has looked anemic on offense and sub-par defensively in the last few games. Injuries continue to be a concern with the absence of Warren Washington. Washington suffered a foot injury in the win over Kansas, and with the lack of depth at the center position, the Red Raiders continue to struggle.

Tech shot an abysmal 8-33 from the field and, worse, converted only 1-10 from three-point range in the first half against Texas. While the Red Raiders played better in the second half, shooting 35.6% for the game will not beat good teams down the road. Pop Isaacs went 0-10 in the first half against the Longhorns before finally breaking his shooting woes in the second half. Hopefully, this slump will be short-lived, as the Red Raiders need to be ready to go by the time the postseason begins.

Enter a struggling Mountaineers team. West Virginia averages 69.4 points per game this season and allows 75.1 ppg. If Texas Tech ever needed a team win to get back on track, this weekend is the time to do it. Not only would a road win boost the Red Raiders’ confidence moving forward, but some of the offensive and defensive issues that currently exist might be resolved.
