Concho Valley Playoff Softball Moves to the Area Round

SAN ANGELO, TX — The playoffs for High School Softball teams in the Concho Valley continue this weekend with Area Round matchups. The Miles Lady Bulldogs, Wall Lady Hawks, and Reagan County Lady Owls all claimed Bi-District Championships last weekend and look to continue that success on Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs matched up with another Concho Valley school in the first round. The two clashed in a defensive battle that ended up with Miles on top. Next up, Miles faces Cisco in the Area Round. Cisco won District 8-2A this season and should prove to be a significant challenge for the Lady Bulldogs this weekend.

Miles and Cisco will face off in Abilene at McMurry University on Thursday, May 2, at 4 p.m

Wall Lady Hawks 12 Blanco 9

The Lady Hawks overcame a tough defensive night last Friday thanks to their high-octane offense against Blanco. Wall faces Iowa Park in the second round. The Lady Hawks cannot make as many mental mistakes on defense if they want to win this matchup. Iowa Park finished in fourth place in their district this season.

Wall plays Iowa Park on Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m. in Clyde

Reagan County 2 Christoval 0 (19-15, 15-14)

The matchup between the Lady Owls and Lady Cougars was an exciting offensive fireworks show. In back-to-back games, Reagan County took a big lead early, only for Christoval to roar back late to challenge for victory. It took a walk-off in the bottom of the 7th in Game 2 for the Lady Owls to finally put Christoval away.

Next up, Reagan County faces Anson in the Area Round. Anson finished fourth in a tough district with several good teams. The Lady Owls need to take care of business on the defensive front if these ladies want to move on to the next round.

Reagan County plays Anson on Thursday, May 2, in Midland at Midland Greenwood at 6 p.m
