Sonora Broncos Win State Golf Tournament

 

SONORA— The Concho Valley is well represented at the State Golf Tournament and have a boys team returning with gold medals.

The Sonora Boys Golf Team has won their first State Championship.

The team consists of Jayden Welborn, Juan Castillo, Raul Arredondo, Weston Fisher, and Dylan Ford, who hit a hole-in-one on the first day of the tournament on hole #13.

For the Broncos, Arredondo scored an 89 and 90 for a 179 total. Castillo shot an 80 and 89 for a 169, Fisher shot 76 and 73 totaling 149, Ford shot a 74 and 75 for 149, and Welborn shot 77 and 82 for a 159 total.

Collectively, on day one, the Broncos scored 307 and 319, for a total of 626.

The New Home Golf Team ended up in second place with a total of 635, and Albany got third place with 636.
