Angelo State Track and Field Teams Set for LSC Championships

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University track and field teams will travel to Eastern New Mexico this week to compete in the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships.

The meet will be held Thursday-Saturday in Portales, New Mexico.

The ASU men are ranked No. 12 in the country, while the women are No. 16.

The Rams hold five marks that rank in the top 10 in the nation in NCAA Division II, while the Rambelles have three top 10 marks.

ASU’s Solomon Odonkor owns the fastest 100-meter dash time in the nation in 10.08 seconds. Oleg Ananev leads the country in the pole vault at 5.6 meters (18 feet, 4 inches).

ASU won seven individual titles at last year’s meet. The Belles finished second in the team standings, while the Rams were fourth.
