WALL, TX — The Wall Hawks (22-6) travel to Brownwood on Wednesday, April 30, for the opening round of the 2025 playoffs against Comfort (10-12).
Head Coach Jeremy Gordon took time out of practice on Tuesday to give his thoughts on the state of his team before the Hawks' first matchup. Watch that interview below:
Wall enters this postseason ranked No. 2 overall in the 3A Baseball with hopes of another state title. The Hawks are led on offense by their catcher, Gunnar Dillard, who committed to play baseball at the University of Oklahoma next season.
The Hawks are heavy favorites in the Bi-District Round, but Head Coach Jeremy Gordon says that the Hawks aren't listening to the outside noise.
"We're not worried about the outside world," Coach Gordon said. "What we're worried about is living up to our goals, our expectations, and doing what we need to do to survive and go into attack mode to keep playing week after week."
Wall certainly feels like the Hawks have something to prove this season after making it to the state finals two seasons ago.
Wall's matchup with Comfort will be a double-header on Wednesday, with a possible Game 3 on Friday in Brownwood. First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for 5 p.m.
