Junior Angler Catches Record Catfish at Twin Buttes

SAN ANGELO, TX — A local young fisherman, Victor Garcia, recently submitted a record-breaking catch from Twin Buttes Reservoir to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Garcia reeled in a 12.25-pound flathead catfish that, if certified, would shatter the previous junior angler record of 5.4 pounds set in 2020.

Garcia’s catch was also measured at 30 inches.

The largest recorded flathead catfish ever pulled from Twin Buttes was a 73.35-pounder caught by Roy Martin in 2014.
