Angelo State Softball Earns No. 3 Seed for Regional Tournament

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University softball team earned its 19th NCAA Tournament berth with the release of the tournament field Monday.

The Rambelles will be the No. 3 seed in the South Central region as they return to Canyon to continue their postseason schedule.

The Belles finished behind No. 1 UT Tyler and No. 2 West Texas A&M in the region, with the two teams serving as hosts.

ASU will open the tournament on Thursday against Colorado Mesa, the No. 6 seed in the region.

WT will take on No. 7 Lubbock Christian in the other opening-round game in Canyon.

UT Tyler's regional features No. 8 Metro State-Denver, No. 4 Oklahoma Christian and No. 5 Colorado Christian.

The winner of each regional will meet in the Super Regionals, scheduled for May 15-17 at the highest seed remaining.

The Rambelles are 44-12 this season and went 34-10 in LSC play.
