PORTALES, N.M. – The Angelo State track and field teams concluded the final day of the 2025 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships as the 12th-ranked Rams and 16th-ranked Rambelles finished in second place overall.
The Rambelles finished the meet with 174 total points, collecting five individual champions, while the Rams totaled 121.50 with three titles.
Federica Dozio claimed the individual title in the women's javelin, tossing a mark of 47.01m (154-3) to win the event. Taking fourth overall was Maricia Spence who threw 41.37m (135-9).
Spence also finished second overall in the long jump, earning a mark of 5.99m (19-7.75) while Kylie Frush finished third with a jump of 5.95m (19-6.25).
The Rambelles placed three in the top eight of the shot put as Fedra Florentin took silver with a toss of 14.48m (47-6) followed by Dozio in sixth (12.61m | 41-4.5) and Kamryn Williams in seventh (12.48m | 40-11.25).
On the track, Spence won the title in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.68 while Lainey Jernigan took eight at 14.78. The 4x100m relay team of Shackelia Green, Alliyah Harrison, Spence, and Frush finished second overall, crossing the finish line in 45.44
In the 400m hurdles, Green finished second overall with a time of 59.73 followed by Kaylee Price earned a fourth-place finish at 1:01.56.
The 4x400m relay team of Green, Spence, Jernigan, and Frush wrapped up the meet finishing second overall, running a time of 3:44.39.
On the men's side, the 4x400m relay team of Taylor Briggs, Tristan Guerrero, Antonio Blair, and Rami Balti clinched the second-place finish for the Rams in the final event of the meet, winning with a time of 3:09.05. Their time moved the Rams up to sixth overall in Division II this season.
Solomon Odonkor turned in the fastest time in the 200m to win the title, crossing the finish line in 20.79.
Balti took silver in the 400m with a time of 45.94 while Guerrero finished in fifth at 47.43. In the 800m run, Blair earned a third-place finish with a time of 1:53.52 followed by Adrian Nethersole in fifth at 1:54.42.
In the men's 400m hurdles, Briggs and Marcus Wilson finished third and sixth respectively, running times of 53.26 and 54.72.
The men's 4x100m relay team of Kacy Kincade, Prince Frimpong, Clayton Carlin, and JoeMarcus Mireles took seventh with a time of 42.19 while Odonkor took eighth in the 100m dash at 10.69.
Mark Burdin finished fourth overall in the javelin, throwing a mark of 48.73m (159-11) while also finishing eighth in the long jump (7.00m | 22-11.5) and the 110m hurdles (18.91).
Rafael Quiles took eighth in the javelin with a throw of 39.35m (129-1) while Kobi Valchar finished seventh in the shot put at 14.41m (47-3.25).
Next up, ASU will compete at West Texas A&M's Last Chance Meet on May 11 before preparing for the NCAA Division II National Championships which takes place May 22-24 in Pueblo, Colo.
