CANYON, TX — The Angelo State softball team’s season ended Saturday evening with a 3-0 loss to West Texas A&M in the regional final.
The Rambelles forced the game with an 8-0 win over WT earlier in the day, but ASU’s offense was nowhere to be found in the rematch.
Lady Buffs pitcher Emilee Boyer allowed only three hits to keep ASU’s offense in check.
WT’s offense scored twice in the third, then added another run in the fourth.
ASU pitcher Amelia Hatthorn started the game but was pulled after giving up a leadoff double to start the third inning. Cheyenne Floyd, who threw a one-hitter earlier in the day against WT, finished the game.
WT improved to 55-6 and advances to play in the Super Regionals next week.
ASU’s season ends with a record of 47-14.
