Mason’s Jordan Lyles Signs to Compete in Rodeo at Montana State

MASON, TX — Mason High School senior Jordan Lyles signed recently to compete in rodeo at Montana State University.

Lyles, who competes in breakaway roping and goat tying, has qualified for the Texas FFA State Rodeo Finals four times.

Lyles is the defending reserve champion in goat tying, and she finished in the top 10 in breakaway roping. Her performances single-handedly gave Mason a sixth-place finish in the team standings.

Lyles has also had success in national events, winning the 19 and Under Last Chance Goat Tying Championship, along with the reserve title in breakaway roping at the San Antonio Stock Show Youth Rodeo.

Montana State has a strong rodeo program, which included its women winning six of the 10 rodeos they competed in this spring. They’ll compete in the national finals next month.
