Angelo State Outfielder Guerrero Named All-American

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The first national accolade for this season has been tallied for the top-ranked Angelo State baseball team as Jacob Guerrero has been named a second-team All-American by the National College Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday afternoon.

Guerrero, an accounting major from Colleyville, earns his second All-American honor and first since 2023. The senior is having a standout season at the plate, boasting a .407 batting average and a 1.133 OPS. He has racked up 87 hits, including 19 doubles, four triples, and seven home runs, while scoring 74 runs and driving in 50. A three-year starter in left field, Guerrero has also drawn 42 walks and swiped 20 bases.

Guerrero will be back on the field when the Rams host UT Tyler in the South Central Super Regional on Thursday, May 22 with the first pitch from Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Scheduled for 7 p.m.

Game 2 will be at 7 p.m. Friday. An if-necessary Game 3 will be at 7 p.m. Saturday.
