GREENWOOD, IN — Angelo State softball standouts Cheyenne Floyd and Tatiana Trotter have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their excellence on the field and in the classroom.
Both Floyd and Trotter earned the honor for a second consecutive year, qualifying by maintaining a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and meeting on-field performance thresholds. Academic All-District selections are now eligible for Academic All-America consideration, with those teams to be announced June 17.
Floyd, a graduate student in Coaching, Sport, Recreation, and Fitness Administration, followed up her 2024 Lone Star Conference (LSC) Pitcher of the Year season with another dominant campaign. The Liberty Hill native posted a 27-7 record and a 1.71 ERA, striking out 199 batters across 184.2 innings while holding opponents to a .177 batting average. She struck out eight or more batters in 11 outings and threw two no-hitters this season. Floyd closed her ASU career with a 55-26 record and 480 strikeouts, the second-most in program history.
Trotter, a junior majoring in Intelligence and Analysis, started nearly every game in the outfield and served as a key bat in the Rambelles’ lineup. She hit .330 with 14 home runs, 47 RBIs, and a .648 slugging percentage while also earning All-LSC First Team and Golden Glove honors. In the postseason, she delivered a 3-for-3 performance with a two-run home run in ASU’s run-rule win over West Texas A&M to force a decisive regional final game.
Both student-athletes helped lead Angelo State to its first NCAA regional final appearance since 2018.
