Texas Softball Back in World Series Final, Awaits Winner of Tech and Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — The University of Texas softball team is back in the Women’s College World Series final.

The No. 6-ranked Longhorns shut out No. 7 Tennessee 2-0 on Monday to advance to the championship series for the third time in the last four years.

Texas (54-11) now awaits the winner of No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 12 Texas Tech, which play at 7 p.m. Monday on ESPN2. If Oklahoma wins, it will force another matchup with Tech later Monday night.

Mac Morgan and Teagan Kavan combined on a three-hitter Monday to lead the Longhorns.

Katie Stewart hit a home run to lead off the fourth inning, and Texas added another run on an error in the sixth.

The championship series will begin Wednesday. Texas lost to Oklahoma in the final in 2022 and 2024.
