LOS ANGELES, CA — Comedian, actor, and writer Shane Gillis will host the 2025 ESPYS, ESPN announced Tuesday.
The annual awards show honoring the top moments, athletes and achievements in sports will take place July 16 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and will air at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN+.
Gillis, who is currently on a nearly 40-city international stand-up comedy tour, is known for his Netflix series Tires and for co-hosting the popular Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast. A longtime sports fan, Gillis said he’s looking forward to the opportunity.
"I'm excited to be at The ESPYS this year," Gillis said in a statement. "I like sports so this should be a good time."
Gillis has also made appearances in a Super Bowl commercial alongside Peyton Manning and Post Malone, and starred in a digital campaign for Notre Dame Football.
The ESPYS also serve a charitable mission, supporting the V Foundation for Cancer Research, which was established by ESPN and the late basketball coach Jim Valvano during the inaugural show in 1993.
