West Texas Football Club Hosts Lubbock in Conference Playoff Final

MIDLAND, TX — The West Texas Football Club, which is based in Midland, will host the rival Lubbock Matadors at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Astound Broadband Stadium in the Lone Star Conference playoff final.

West Texas FC was the conference's top seed with a record of 7 wins, 2 losses and a draw. They won both games against Lubbock, which earned the No. 2 seed.

West Texas FC then claimed a 3-0 win over Fort Worth last week in their playoff opener.

West Texas FC is led by Alberto De Miguel, who has been nominated for Lone Star Conference MVP after scoring eight goals and adding four assists.

The winner of Saturday's game will move on to the regional round of the National Premier Soccer League's playoff format.

The national championship will be held Aug. 2.
