AUSTIN, TX — Texas and Penn State, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the preseason AP Top 25, headline the 2025 AP Preseason All-America team announced Monday.
The Longhorns dominated the defensive side of the first-team list, with sophomore edge rusher Colin Simmons, junior linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., and senior safety Michael Taaffe earning honors.
Penn State landed three players as well, with senior running back Nicholas Singleton, senior offensive lineman Olaivavega Ioane and senior defensive lineman Zane Durant selected.
Other top programs with multiple first-team honorees include Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Pittsburgh. The SEC led all conferences with 12 first-team selections, followed by the Big Ten with seven, the ACC with four, and the Big 12 with two.
The All-America team is voted on by the same national panel that compiles the AP Top 25 each week.
