Angelo State Rams Move Up to No. 8 in National Rankings

SAN ANGELO, TX — After last week’s 41-20 win over Emporia State, the Angelo State University football team moved up two more spots to No. 8 in this week’s American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II national rankings.

The Rams began the year No. 12 but have jumped two spots each week after back-to-back wins to start the season.

ASU lost quarterback Braeden Fuller to a calf strain in the opening minutes of last week’s game, but backup Kaeden Smith stepped in and went 8-of-16 for 132 yards and two TDs, and he added 15 carries for 60 yards and a TD.

It’s unclear who will start this week when the Rams travel to Eastern New Mexico to begin Lone Star Conference play.
