AMARILLO, TX – Angelo State freshman Christine Huse set a new program record by shooting a 66 (-5) in Round 2 of the WT Fall Invitational on Monday on the La Paloma Golf Course at the Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, helping the Rambelles to third place after the tournament's opening 36 holes of play.
Huse, who shot a 73 in Round 1, shaved seven strokes off her second round to set the new program record, which was previously held by Kamryn Cummings, who shot 67 on two occasions in October 2017.
Huse leads the field with 10 birdies through two rounds of play.
The Rambelles shot seven over par for the first round before coming in one stroke under par in the second round.
The Rambelles sit three strokes behind leaders West Texas A&M and two strokes behind second-place Midwestern State.
Mia Clarke, like Huse, is three-under after two rounds of play as the two Rambelles are in a four-way tie in second place, sitting two strokes off the lead.
Beth Norton is three-over after two rounds of play, good enough for 17th place, while Johanna Ohrling is 36th and Kara Knight is 45th, shooting nine-over and 11-over, respectively.
Competing as an individual, Emma Cook shot 15-over, highlighted by improving by nine strokes from the first round.
The Rambelles tee off for the final round Tuesday.
