SAN ANGELO, TX — The Lake View Chiefs got back to their winning ways Friday in a 58-26 win on the road over Brownfield.
Lake View was coming off back-to-back losses but ended nondistrict play with a resounding win to improve to 5-2.
Izaiah Rios led the way with a big game on the ground, rushing for 192 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. He also had four catches for 31 yards.
Evan Gallegos had a breakout game with seven carries for 95 yards and two TDs.
Quarterback Chris Alvizo was 22-of-33 passing for 223 yards and three TDs with two interceptions.
Nick Leyva led the receiving corps with four catches for 96 yards and a TD.
Braylon White and Isaac Monreal each had an INT on defense.
After Brownfield took an early 6-0 lead, Lake View scored the next 28 points to take a commanding lead that was never threatened.
Lake View is now averaging 44.6 points per game.
After a bye next week, the Chiefs will begin District 3-4A Division I play on the road against Pecos.
Brownfield (0-7) will also be off next week before starting District 2-3A Division I at Denver City.
