BRADY, TX — The Wall Lady Hawks cruised to a 3-0 sweep over Blanco in the Bi-District Playoff Round in Brady on Thursday night. After two dominant sets, Blanco would fight back, but the Lady Hawks proved to be too much as Wall claimed victory 25-14, 25-16, and 26-24.
Wall came out of the gates strong and quickly took a commanding lead. Blanco failed to keep up as the Lady Hawks waltzed to a 25-14 first set. In the second, Blanco forced several long rallies, but Wall proved the better team in most situations to claim those points. A 25-16 advantage put the Lady Hawks one set away from victory.
In the third set, Blanco pulled to a tie after being down by 7, 16-16. However, the Lady Hawks killed Blanco’s momentum to take back control. Punishing finishes at the net put the Lady Hawks back up by two, and Wall never looked back. Blanco showed fight one final time, tying the game at 24-24, but could not overcome the stout Wall defense.
The Lady Hawks claimed victory in the third set 26-24, and swept Blanco 3-0.
Next up, the Lady Hawks will face the winner of Tolar and Henrietta. Details on that matchup are still TBD.
