SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State women’s soccer team saw its season come to a close Monday evening, falling 2-0 to UT Tyler in the quarterfinal round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament at the LeGrand Soccer Complex.
The Rambelles conclude the 2025 campaign with a 9-5-5 overall record, marking their 15th consecutive appearance in the LSC postseason under head coach Travis McCorkle.
Angelo State generated the game’s first offensive opportunity when Sanai Stewart forced a save from UT Tyler goalkeeper Robbi Curry early in the match. The Patriots, however, struck first in the 25th minute, when Katie Wong broke loose on the left flank and sent a cross toward goal that found its way into the net for a 1-0 lead.
The Rambelles entered halftime trailing by one after recording four first-half shots, while UT Tyler capitalized on its limited chances to hold the advantage.
In the second half, the Patriots extended their lead in the 51st minute. After ASU goalkeeper Melyna Martinez made an initial save, the rebound escaped her grasp, allowing Natalie Jones to slot home the follow-up shot and secure UT Tyler’s spot in the LSC semifinals, where the Patriots will face DBU on Thursday.
