Dallas Downs Kansas City to Move Above .500

ARLINGTON, TX — The Dallas Cowboys clutched up during crunch time to outlast the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving, 31-28.

Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to an early 14-7 lead in the first quarter before the Cowboys came storming back. Brandon Aubrey nailed a 49-yard field goal to pull the Cowboys within four points before Malike Davis burst through the middle of the Kansas City defense for a 43-yard touchdown to give Dallas the 17-14 halftime lead.

In the second half, Dak Prescott and Patrick Mahomes entered a quarterback duel as both teams found success down the stretch. Prescott threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Javonte Williams to cap off a drive that included a 39-yard highlight-worthy catch-and-run by George Pickens. On the other side, Mahomes threw two touchdown passes, a 3-yard touchdown to Rashee Rice and a 10-yard strike to Hollywood Brown.

Up 31-28 late in the 4th quarter, the Cowboys had to gain a few first downs to put the game away. Hard running from Williams clutch catches by Ceedee Lamb and Pickens sealed the deal. Dallas ran out the rest of the clock to claim a 31-28 home victory.

Dak Prescott finished his night 27/39 for 320 yards and two touchdowns and one interception. Patrick Mahomes matched that performance with 261 yards and four touchdowns on 23 of 34 passing. CeeDee Lamb returned to form with seven catches for 112 yards and a touchdown.

Dallas returns to action on Thursday, December 4, when the Cowboys travel to Detroit to take on the Lions.
