No. 7 Ballinger Girls Basketball Continues Perfect Start, Improves to 13-0

BALLINGER, TX — The No. 7-ranked Ballinger girls basketball team continued its perfect start to the season Tuesday with a 32-24 win at Grape Creek.

The Lady Cats improved to 13-0 under the team’s second-year head coach, Nathan Riggan.

Ballinger has been led by a rock-solid defense that has allowed an average of 23.5 points per game.

The Lady Cats have claimed tournament titles in Hamilton and Robert Lee.

Ballinger went 22-11 last year and won a pair of playoff games.

The Lady Cats opened this season outside the Top 25, but they’ve quickly moved up to No. 7 in Class 2A, where they’re the only undefeated team left in the state rankings.

Ballinger’s perfect record will be put to the test Thursday when it plays Bellevue, the No. 18-ranked team in Class 1A at the Santo Tournament.
