LUBBOCK, TX — Great news for Texas Tech football fans on Sunday night. The nation's top transfer portal player is headed to Lubbock. Former Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Sunday evening.
At Cincinnati, he threw for 2,800 yards, ran for 580, and accounted for 36 combined touchdowns this year. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Sorsby has thrown for 7,208 yards and 60 TDs in his career, which began at Indiana in 2022. He went to Cincinnati in 2024.

The Red Raiders have officially addressed the need at the quarterback position after senior quarterback Behren Morton played his final game for the Red Raiders in the College Football Playoffs against Oregon. Texas Tech has another young star on the roster already in Will Hammond, but the quarterback tore his ACL midseason, and it is not known if he will be ready to go by Week 1 in 2026.
