SAN ANGELO, TX — The 2025 College Football season is officially in the books, with Indiana claiming the National Championship over Miami on Monday night, 27-21.
The final top 25 rankings were released on Tuesday, and six Texas schools finished among the best in the country.
Leading the way for Texas teams was the No. 7 Texas Tech Red Raiders, followed by No. 8 Texas A&M and No. 12 Texas. Further down, but still in the top 25, came No. 22 Houston, then No. 24 North Texas, and finally, No. 25 TCU.

No. 7 Texas Tech set multiple program records this season, including wins (12) and the highest finishing rank in school history. The Red Raiders also won their first-ever Big 12 championship and claimed their first appearance in the College Football Playoffs.
Texas A&M Football
No. 8 Texas A&M jumped out to a program-best, 11-0, overall record before falling to the rival Texas Longhorns in the regular season finale. The Aggies also made it to the College Football Playoffs for the first time, but fell in the opening round to Miami at home.

No. 12 Texas debuted at No. 1 overall in the preseason rankings to start the year before completely falling out of the rankings after a bad loss to Florida. However, the Longhorns bounced back in a big way with three wins over top 10 teams (Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, and Texas A&M) to finish the year in the Top 15. While some may consider 2025 a letdown, the Longhorns ultimately made several significant strides this season before narrowly missing the College Football Playoffs.
