SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Central wide receiver Colton Hill is joining his teammate Mason Van Sickle in committing to play football at the University of Texas Permian Basin in Odessa.
Hill, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound wide receiver, was a big-time playmaker for the Bobcats with 66 catches for 876 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.
He had a breakout sophomore season in 2023 with 57 catches for 854 yards and four TDs, but he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the second game of his junior year.
He returned as strong as ever last fall to lead the Central’s receiving corps and earn first-team All-District 2-6A honors.
He also helped lead the Bobcats to an 8-4 record and their first playoff win since 2020.
Hill becomes the third Central player from the 2025 team to commit to play football at the NCAA Division II level, joining Van Sickle (UTPB) and Jaekob Jackson (West Texas A&M).
Hill also received offers from Angelo State, Mary Hardin Baylor, Avila, Howard Payne, Southwestern and Sterling before choosing UTPB.
Hill is the younger brother of former Central standouts Tyler and Weston Hill. Tyler went on to play college football at ASU.
