Angelo State Belles Rout the Mustangs to Extend Win-Streak to Five Games

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Every active player scored as the Angelo State Rambelles rolled past Western New Mexico 79-47 on Thursday night at the Junell Center–Stephens Arena.

The Rambelles extended their winning streak to five games and have now won seven of their last eight, improving to 10-9 overall and 8-5 in Lone Star Conference play.

Angelo State controlled the game on both ends, shooting 46.8% from the field, including 44.8% from 3-point range, while converting nearly 73% of its free throws. The Rambelles also dominated the glass with a 45-32 rebounding advantage and forced 21 turnovers, turning them into 26 points.

Taylor Grona led all scorers with 17 points and added seven assists and a block. Majik Esquivel followed with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and a team-high three steals.

Keniah Williams finished with 10 points, three rebounds, a block and a steal, while Landry Morrow pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds to go with seven points, four assists, two steals and a block.

The balanced scoring effort included contributions from Stevi Lockhart (8 points), Briley Merket (7), Halle Hughes (5), Kenna Wood (4), Dragana Scepanovic (3) and Tristin Keller (2).

Angelo State returns to action Saturday, Feb. 7, when it hosts Sul Ross State at the Junell Center–Stephens Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
