Mason’s Whitworth Hits Milestone With 2,000 Career Points

MASON, TX — Mason’s Anna Marie Whitworth hit an impressive milestone recently with her 2,000th career point for the Cowgirls basketball team.

Whitworth, a 6-foot-2 power forward, has led the Cowgirls to a 35-1 record and the No. 2 ranking in the state in Class 2A.

She has received college offers from Angelo State University, Houston Christian, Ouachita Baptist, Oklahoma Baptist and D’Youville.

Whitworth has also recorded more than 1,100 rebounds in her career.

Last year, she was one of only 20 players in the state in Class 2A to be selected to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State Team.

Whitworth and Mason will open their playoff run Monday when they take on Brackettville in Junction.
