RICHARDSON, TX — Angelo State pitcher Garrett Baumann has been named the Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week after helping the No. 18 Rams complete a road sweep of No. 23 St. Mary’s, the league announced Monday.
Baumann, a senior majoring in interdisciplinary studies, earned two relief victories in the four-game series. He threw eight shutout innings across Games 1 and 4, allowing three hits — all singles — while striking out six.
Opponents hit .111 against the Poth native during the series. The outings extended Baumann’s streak to three consecutive scoreless appearances out of the bullpen.
Angelo State will open a two-week homestand Friday, March 6, when it hosts Lubbock Christian. First pitch at Foster Field is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
