SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Central offensive lineman Ethan Boyd announced his fourth NCAA Division I college offer Wednesday, this one from Florida Atlantic University.
Boyd, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound guard, has received considerable college interest since the end of his junior season last fall.
He has also received offers from Oklahoma State, UTEP and Georgia State.
In January, he was visited at the San Angelo Stadium fieldhouse by Texas Tech offensive line coach Clay McGuire.
Last fall, Boyd helped the Bobcats’ offense average 35 points per game during the regular season. They finished with an 8-4 record and won their first playoff game since 2020.
Boyd earned first-team All-District 2-6A honors.
He first broke onto the scene as a sophomore and has started all 22 games since then.
Florida Atlantic competes in the American Conference and went 4-8 last season. The Owls are coached by Zach Kittley, who was previously the offensive coordinator at Texas Tech. He’s the son of Wes Kittley, who is the Texas Tech track coach and also coached at Abilene Christian.
Florida Atlantic competes in a conference with three Texas schools — North Texas, UT San Antonio and Rice — along with schools like Navy, Army, Tulane, East Carolina and Memphis.
