Angelo State's Majik Esquivel Earns All-South Central Honors

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State guard Majik Esquivel has been named second-team All-South Central Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners’ Association, the organization announced Thursday.

Esquivel, a sophomore from Lubbock, led the Rambelles in scoring this season with 17.2 points per game, the second-highest average in the Lone Star Conference. Earlier this month, she was named first-team All-LSC.

Esquivel shot 40.3% from the field and 31.4% from 3-point range during the season. She also recorded 93 rebounds and 49 steals.

The commercial aviation major was selected to the all-region team by sports information directors from NCAA Division II South Central Region schools and conferences.

The regional selections serve as the final step before the Division II Conference Commissioners’ Association announces its All-America teams later this month.
