SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Lake View running back Izaiah Rios announced his second college offer Wednesday from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton.
Rios was named the District 3-4A Division I Co-MVP last fall after racking up 1,500 rushing yards and 19 TDs while averaging 9.3 yards per carry.
He also had 35 catches for 355 yards and three TDs.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Rios was the biggest playmaker for a Chiefs’ offense that was one of the best in West Texas with 43 points per game.
He helped lead Lake View to a 7-4 record for its winningest season in 29 years.
Rios's other offer came from Schreiner University in Kerrville, which like Mary Hardin-Baylor is an NCAA Division III college.
Rios is also one of the top players on Lake View’s soccer team, which carried a 19-game unbeaten streak into the opening round of the playoffs Friday, and he has served as a kicker for Lake View’s football team.
Lake View's Izaiah Rios makes a cut against Lamesa on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at San Angelo Stadium.
