Wall Still Atop State After Second Lone Star Cup Update

WALL, TX — Wall High School continues to lead the state in Class 3A in the Lone Star Cup standings.

Wall has a total of 64 points, giving it a 16-point lead over the rest of Texas in the Lone Star Cup, which measures a school’s overall performance in academic and athletic competitions.

Wall recently picked up 18 more points from its girls basketball team winning the state title, along with six points from its boys basketball team winning district and a playoff game.

The other points came from the football team’s state title (18), the volleyball team’s trip to the state semifinals (12), the girls cross country team placing fourth at state (4), the marching band qualifying for state (4), the robotics team qualifying for state (1), and the cheerleading team placing in the top 20 at state (1).

Wall won the Lone Star Cup in 2017.

The only other area school in the Top 25 is Mason, which was tied for second place in Class 2A with 28 points. Mason earned 14 points from its girls basketball team advancing to the state final and its boys basketball team reaching the second round of the playoffs.
