SAN ANGELO, TX — Here are our selections for the 2026 San Angelo LIVE! All-Star Girls Basketball Team, honoring the best players in West Texas and the Concho Valley:
MVP: Jewels Johnson, Wall, Soph.
Johnson led the state-champion Lady Hawks all season, and she saved her best basketball for the biggest moments. The 5-foot-7 guard scored a game-high 23 points in the state semifinals against Paradise, and she was the MVP of the state final despite scoring only 9 points, as she showed her all-around game with 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and a block. For the season, Johnson averaged 14 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3 steals. She was the District 6-3A MVP and an all-state selection. Most importantly, she helped Wall to a 37-3 record and the third state title in program history.

Offensive MVP: Anna Marie Whitworth, Mason, Sr.
The 6-foot-2 forward was the driving force behind the best season in the Cowgirls’ history. She helped Mason go 40-2 and reach its first-ever state final. Whitworth averaged 21.4 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists. She was named all-state and the District 29-2A MVP. Whitworth has received several NCAA Division II offers, including from Angelo State.

Defensive MVP: Ysee Le Borgne, Ballinger, Soph.
Le Borgne, a foreign exchange student from France, made an incredible impact on the West Texas basketball scene. She filled the stat sheet like no one else in the area with 21.3 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 3.2 steals and 3.4 blocks to earn all-region honors. She was also the Defensive MVP of District 8-2A. Le Borgne led the Lady Cats to a 24-7 record and a state ranking as high as No. 7.

Newcomer of the Year: PK Parker, Irion County, Fr.
Parker jumped onto the scene as a freshman and was named the Offensive MVP of District 11-1A. She averaged 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals to lead the Lady Hornets to a 26-6 record and a pair of playoff wins. She was also an all-region selection.
Coach of the Year: Silas Crisler, Wall
The second-year head coach oversaw Wall’s remarkable run to the program’s third state title. The Lady Hawks knocked off 12 teams ranked in the Top 25 in the state - capped by wins over No. 3 Idalou, No. 2 Coahoma, No. 6 Paradise and No. 24 Central Heights in the state final. Wall began the year ranked No. 22 in the state, but the Lady Hawks quickly ascended to No. 1 and backed it up game after game. They finished the year on a 16-game winning streak and compiled a 37-3 record.

The Team
Kennedi Graves, Wall, Sr.
Graves was a dependable player for the Lady Hawks during their state-title run who connected on 40% of her 3-pointers. She averaged 12 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal per game. She was the Offensive MVP of District 6-3A and an all-state selection.

Kathrine Lewis, Wall, Sr.
Lewis locked down her opponent’s best player each game and earned Defensive MVP honors in District 6-3A. She was also an all-region selection. She averaged 6 points, 4 assists and 2.7 steals to help power Wall’s championship season.

McKenzie Lopez, Wall, Jr.
Lopez was a key part of Wall’s state-title team whose impact couldn’t be measured by her averages of 5 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. She delivered her best game in the regional semifinals against No. 3 Idalou with 19 points and 5 steals. She also calmly sank two free throws in the final seconds of the state semifinals to help seal a win over No. 6 Paradise. She was named to the 3A Division II All-State Tournament Team.

Emery Harper, Wall, Sr.
Harper was a consistent force for the state-champion Lady Hawks. She had modest averages of 4.5 points and 4 rebounds on the balanced squad, but she showed what she was capable of in the state final with a performance of 8 points, 9 rebounds and 2 steals. She was a first-team all-district selection and named to the 3A Division II All-State Tournament Team.
Kenzzie Covert, Wall, Jr.
Covert was a sparkplug off the bench who was named the District 6-3A Sixth Man of the Year. She averaged 7 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Her back-to-back 3-pointers in the state final helped blow open the game and send Wall on its way to the title.
Flora Appleton, Mason, Jr.
Appleton was part of Mason’s formidable frontcourt that led the Cowgirls to their first-ever state final. The 6-foot-1 forward averaged 13.2 points. 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists. She was an all-state selection and the Newcomer of the Year in District 29-2A.

Ainsley Burns, Mason, Sr.
The Cowgirls point guard averaged 10.2 points and 2.7 assists to help Mason go 40-2 and reach its first state final. She was an all-region selection and named to the 2A Division I All-State Tournament Team. She’ll be in San Angelo next fall as a member of the Angelo State golf team.
Jazmyne Gipson, San Angelo Central, Sr.
Gipson was the Co-Defensive Player of the Year in District 2-6A after averaging 4.6 deflections and 2.7 steals per game. She also had team-highs with 8.8 points and 4.8 rebounds for the Lady Cats, helping them to a 22-12 record. She was a part of Central’s varsity program all four years of her career.
Karsyn Scott, San Angelo Central, Jr.
Scott was a first-team all-district selection for the Lady Cats, who went 22-12 and qualified for the playoffs. On a defensive-minded team, she averaged 6 points, 3 rebounds and 1.6 steals.

Madisyn Renteria, Coahoma, Sr.
Renteria was an all-region guard for a Bulldogettes team that went 34-2 and was ranked No. 2 in the state for most of the season. They lost in the regional final to eventual state champ Wall. Renteria averaged 14 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 3.1 steals and 0.9 blocks to earn Co-MVP honors in district.

Addison Schmidt, Coahoma, Jr.
Schmidt was an all-state power forward for Coahoma who shared MVP honors in her district. She averaged 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.8 steals and 0.9 blocks to lead the Bulldogettes to a 34-2 record, the No. 2 ranking in the state and a spot in the regional final.
Ashtyn Wilson, Ballinger, Sr.
Wilson was a playmaker all over the court for the Lady Cats who earned Co-Impact Player of the Year honors in District 8-2A. She averaged 16.4 points, 6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 4 steals to help Ballinger to a 24-7 record and a ranking as high as No. 7 in the state.

Sophie Nemec, Christoval, Sr.
Nemec was the leader of a Lady Cougars team that went 28-7 and won a district title and a playoff game. The MVP of District 7-2A, she averaged 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals. She was also an all-region selection.

Kaelyn Crain, Christoval, Sr.
Crain was a first-team all-district player for the Lady Cougars who averaged 9 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals while fighting through double teams and triple teams to set up her teammates. She helped Christoval go 28-7 and win a district title and a playoff game.
Karly Baker, Garden City, Sr.
Baker was a dynamic player for the Lady Kats on both ends of the floor with 18.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.1 steals per game. She helped Garden City go 27-7 and advance to the regional semifinals. She was the District 11-1A MVP and an all-state selection.
Keegan Batla, Garden City, Sr.
Batla was an all-region player for the Lady Kats and a first-team all-district selection. She averaged 10.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.4 steals to help Garden City go 27-7 and reach the regional semifinals.
Sabri Zamora, Menard, Jr.
Zamora was an absolute menace with 6.7 steals per game to lead the Lady Jackets’ defense. She also averaged 13.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists while knocking down 37% of her 3-point tries. She was the District 12-1A MVP, the MVP of the Medina Tournament, and led Menard to a 23-4 record and a district title.
Christina Geary, Sterling City, Sr.
Geary helped the Lady Eagles to a 24-10 record and a playoff win after emerging from a tough district with a third-place finish. She averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds and 2.5 blocks to earn Defensive MVP honors in District 7-2A. She was also an all-region pick.
Sterling City's Christina Geary
Laila Aguero, Winters, Soph.
Aguero was a standout player for the Lady Blizzards on offense and defense. She averaged 14.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists, and she was a disruptive force with 5.4 deflections and 3.7 steals.
Avery Davidson, Ozona, Jr.
Davidson was the point guard for a Lady Lions team that went 26-9 and advanced to the regional semifinals. She averaged 13.2 points, 6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3 steals to earn all-region laurels.
Jaida Silva, Colorado City, Sr.
Silva helped the Lady Wolves to a 20-15 season, which was an 11-win improvement from last year. She was the Offensive MVP of District 8-2A with averages of 17 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. She was also a dangerous long-range shooter who hit six 3-pointers in a comeback win over Ballinger that helped earn third place in district.
Kezlye Strain, Colorado City, Sr.
Strain was an important part of a Colorado City team that had a surprising third-place finish in District 8-2A. She was the district’s Co-Impact Player of the Year with 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1 assist and 2.2 steals per game.
Kassidy Mitchell, Grape Creek, Sr.
Mitchell made a big impact for an underrated Grape Creek team. She averaged 13.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and an impressive 5.6 steals.
Jerzey Jones, Grape Creek, Sr.
Jones was Grape Creek’s captain and team leader. She averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds and 1.6 steals to help the Lady Eagles go 14-17, which included a handful of close losses to state-ranked teams.
Natalee Hernandez, Irion County, Fr.
Hernandez is a part of Irion County’s young collection of talent. The freshman averaged 9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 steals to earn first-team all-district honors. She helped the Lady Hornets go 26-6 and finish the regular season ranked No. 23 in the state in 1A.
Presli Cormier, Irion County, Sr.
Cormier gave the Lady Hornets important senior leadership and helped them reach the regional semifinals. The first-team all-district selection averaged 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals per game.
Bailey Flanagan, Robert Lee, Fr.
Flanagan had an outstanding freshman season for the Lady Steers, which included being selected to the all-region team. The point guard averaged 11.3 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists while helping her team improve from 9 wins to 24 wins.
Karley Hale, Coleman, Jr.
Hale led Coleman to a runner-up finish in its district with averages of 15.5 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 2.1 steals. She stepped up with 28 points in the team’s win over district champion Roscoe and earned first-team all-district honors.
Kyndall Weston, Sonora, Soph.
Weston had a strong sophomore campaign with 14.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Despite playing for a Sonora team that finished in last place in district, she was a first-team all-district selection.
Brook Kaiser, Sonora, Soph.
The 5-foot-11 center was another bright spot for Sonora who gives the Lady Broncos a promising future. Kaiser averaged 9.7 points and 11.4 rebounds per game to earn second-team all-district honors.
Morgan Dodd, Reagan County, Sr.
The 5-foot-9 shooting guard led the Lady Owls to a 21-13 record and a first-round playoff win. Dodd averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. She made 44% of her shots and 30% of her 3-pointers. Dodd is receiving offers from NCAA Division III colleges.
Harleigh Greer, Forsan, Sr.
Greer scored over 1,500 points during her four-year career. She played for a team that won only five games, but she was a first-team all-district selection who averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
Kyndall Pritchard, Forsan, Soph.
Pritchard scored 11.5 points per game for the Lady Buffaloes. She also averaged 4 rebounds and 3 assists to earn second-team all-district recognition.
