SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo Central offensive lineman Ethan Boyd announced his fifth NCAA Division I college offer Wednesday from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Boyd was in San Antonio for the Roadrunners’ spring practice, and he left town with an offer to join the UTSA program, which has posted six straight winning seasons, including a 7-6 mark last year.
Boyd, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound guard, has received serious college interest since the end of his junior season last fall.
He has also received offers from Oklahoma State, UTEP, Georgia State and Florida Atlantic.
In January, he was visited at the San Angelo Stadium fieldhouse by Texas Tech offensive line coach Clay McGuire. He was also invited to Tech’s spring practice last week, though he hasn’t received an offer from the Red Raiders yet.
Boyd also attended TCU’s spring practice, and he has had invites from North Texas, Rutgers, Jackson State and Texas State.
Boyd has started every game for Central since his sophomore year. Last fall, he helped the Bobcats’ offense average 35 points per game during the regular season. They finished with an 8-4 record and won their first playoff game since 2020.
Boyd earned first-team All-District 2-6A honors last season.
