WATER VALLEY, TX — Water Valley senior Boston Wiese is one of five Texas players who have been chosen to represent Team USA in the CanAm Bowl.
The all-star game, which began in 1997, features graduated seniors from the United States and Canada.
This year’s game will be held July 4 in Meeteetse, Wyoming.
The U.S. roster includes players from Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, Montana and Wyoming.
Wiese will be joined from the Lone Star State by Jayton’s Bode Ham (who last year had a state-final record 10 rushing touchdowns), Rankin’s Gage Lopez, Chester’s Jaxon Gay and Miami’s Kris Gorecki.
Last year, Wiese led Water Valley to the state semifinals for the second consecutive year. He was a first-team all-state linebacker with 198 tackles, eight tackles for loss, five interceptions, five forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and two defensive touchdowns.
He was also a force as a fullback on offense with 66 carries for 544 yards and 22 TDs, along with 17 catches for 256 yards and two TDs.
The U.S. holds a 22-5 record over Canada in the CanAm series, including a 70-52 win last year in Rosetown, Saskatchewan.
