Wall Softball Pushed to Brink After Game 2 Loss

EULA, TX — The Wall Lady Hawks weren’t able to finish off Jacksboro on Thursday as the Tigerettes bounced back with a 9-3 win in Game 2 of their area-round meeting.

The series will now pause through the weekend before the teams return to Eula at 6 p.m. Monday for a winner-take-all Game 3.

Wall rolled to a 9-4 win in the series opener Wednesday behind a pair of home runs from Madee Williams, who also picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle.

Jacksboro, however, is a strong program that reached the regional final last year, and the Tigerettes didn’t go down without a fight.

Jacksboro imprpoved to 20-12, while Wall fell to 25-6.

This is a rematch of last year’s playoff meeting in the same round when Jacksboro won Game 1 before Wall won Game 2. Jacksboro then took the decisive Game 3.

The winner of Monday’s game will advance to the Class 3A Division II regional semifinals against the winner of Canadian and Alpine.
