LOUISVILLE, KY — Two members of the Angelo State University softball team earned All-American honors, with Zoey Sifuentes and Tatiana Trotter recognized by the NFCA and D2CCA.
Sifuentes was named a second-team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, while Trotter earned third-team honors. Both players were also selected to the third team by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
The honors mark the 38th and 39th All-American selections in Rambelles' program history.
Sifuentes, the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year, led Angelo State with a .404 batting average, 21 doubles and 76 RBIs during her rookie season. The Lamesa native also hit 16 home runs and posted a .814 slugging percentage. She recorded separate hitting streaks of 12 and 11 games.
Trotter, a senior from Lubbock, finished the season batting .358 with 18 home runs and 58 RBIs. She was named NFCA Division II Player of the Week during the final week of the regular season and set a program record with 18 career triples. Trotter also became the fifth player in program history to surpass 40 career home runs.
A four-year letterwinner, Trotter posted a team-best .838 slugging percentage and reached base in 29 consecutive games earlier in the season. She concluded her career with a .673 slugging percentage, 167 runs scored, 42 home runs, 171 RBIs, 396 total bases, 99 walks, and 10 sacrifice flies, all ranking among the top 10 in program history.
The selection marks Trotter’s second and third All-American honors after earning CSC Academic All-American recognition last season.
