SAN ANTONIO, TX — San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama delivered a dominant performance as the Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 118-91 on Thursday night to force a Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals.
Facing elimination, Wembanyama responded with 28 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, setting the tone early and leading San Antonio wire-to-wire. The Spurs will now travel to Oklahoma City for a winner-take-all Game 7 on Saturday at Paycom Center.
San Antonio seized control from the outset, with Wembanyama scoring aggressively and impacting both ends of the floor. He had 22 points by halftime as the Spurs built a 60-53 lead, then pulled away in the third quarter with a decisive 20-0 run.
The Thunder never led in the game, marking their first playoff loss without holding a lead since 2016.
Young guards Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle added 18 and 17 points, respectively, as the Spurs recorded their largest margin of victory in a postseason elimination game in franchise history.
At 22 years, 144 days old, Wembanyama became the youngest player to record at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in an elimination game. He has totaled 358 points and 168 rebounds this postseason, joining a short list of players to reach those marks in their first playoff run.
Game 7 will determine which team advances to the NBA Finals against the New York Knicks.
