NEW ORLEANS, LA — Angelo State head track and field coach Tom Dibbern was named the USTFCCCA South Central Region Men’s Coach of the Year following a strong 2026 season for the Rams.
Dibbern, who was also named Lone Star Conference Men’s Coach of the Year, earns his fifth career regional coach of the year honor and third on the men’s side. He previously swept both the men’s and women’s regional awards in 2018 and 2019.
The honor marks the eighth time an Angelo State coach has received the award since 2008. Former head coach James Reid won the award three times on the women’s side.
Dibbern led the Rams to a seventh-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, where they won three events.
Angelo State also finished runner-up at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships, winning eight events and falling just one point short of the team title.
