NEW YORK, NY — The San Antonio Spurs find themselves in a 0-2 deficit against the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals, headed into Game 3 on Monday night.
After falling behind by as much as 14 points in Game 2 on Friday, the Spurs battled back to within one point with less than ten seconds remaining. Spurs' young phenom Victor Wembanyama had the go-ahead shot as time expired, but the ball rattled off the back iron and out. The Spurs fell 105-104 to fall behind in the series 0-2.
San Antonio looks to bounce back on Monday night when the Spurs hit the road. Here's how to watch:
- Time: 7:30 p.m.
- Location: Madison Square Garden, New York
- TV channel: ABC Streaming: ESPN Unlimited, DirecTV
Wembanyama led the Spurs in Game 2 with 29 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Knicks and had a double-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds and four assists.
The Spurs most likely would have won Game 2 if San Antonio shot better from the free-throw line. At 19-of-27 and only 70% from the line, the Spurs left too many points on the table. That needs to improve if the Spurs want to climb back into this series.
