2026 FIFA World Cup Begins Thursday

 

LOS ANGELES, CA — After months of preparation, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is finally here. Hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, one of the world's biggest sporting events kicks off with Mexico vs. South Africa on Thursday at 2 p.m. It will be the first of 104 games played over the next several weeks.

The United States will have to wait until Day 2 to get into the action. The Americans begin Group D play on Friday, June 12, against Paraguay in Los Angeles at 8 p.m.

Here is the full schedule for the opening week of Group Stage matches.

Thursday, June 11
